Homiesick Events is the organizational dream of seven colleagues-turned-friends (homies, if you will) who wanted to fuse our collective 50+ years of live event expertise with our personal interests; to basically host events that we would like to attend ourselves. In the whiplash of having busy professional lives and feeling lonely in our social ones, we hope to create third places for people like us by curating events where we can strengthen relationships with our friends, and build new ones with other members of our community.

 

“Third places” is an academic term for spaces that are neither home nor work, where people can be surrounded by both familiar and new people. The seven of us met working at the 626 Night Market, which is a popular third place for community members of all ages. After years of producing large-scale seasonal events, we craved something different - more modest, hobby-driven events that people could enter as complete strangers, and leave as new homies. 

 

So we created them. 

 

Since our first Homiesick event in 2025, we’ve met people with a wide array of interests; we’ve locked in our processes and continue to expand our skills; we’ve even dipped our toes into consulting other events. Looking ahead, we hope to scale our operations and network - and stay rooted in the intimate events that are near and dear to our hearts. And if each event brings new homies into our community, then we know we’re on the right track. 

 

Because after all, home is where the homies are.
